Objective: To create a case study about Kao Datacenter becoming the first UK data centre to replace diesel backup generators with HVO fuel.
The Process: Working with our partners Spa Communications, filming took place on one of those rare hot days during summer 2021. The sensible members of the crew wore caps and were lathered with factor 50. The less sensible, well yes, cooked.
This case study needed to capture the location of Kao Datacenter. A key element of the filming was the removal of the diesel from the site, followed by the addition of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). This was supplied by Crown Oil which was captured being incorporated at the site. The interviews were filmed ‘off camera’ with the pre-prepared scripts loaded into our software and autocue to allow for easier and more professional filming. The filming took place over one day. The kit used: Canon C300 4K, autocue, gimble and rail were the key pieces of equipment. The edit included Kao branding, creation of lower thirds, the client’s drone footage, voice-over from the interviews and music selection.
Outcome: The deadline was met and the coverage throughout the media was significant and included 35 channels including the UN’s Climate Action news site and Net Zero website. This is timely in advance of COP26 being held in Glasgow in November 2021.
