Recent aerial filming took us to the Silverhand Estate located at Luddesdown on the beautiful North Downs in Kent. An AONB site where the chalk downland is cloaked with vines, interlaced with footpaths and nature. The vines planted are principally Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunierè. The Silverhand Estate produces exceptional English Sparkling Wine using the Charmat of England method. Here Harlot Sparkling Wine Brut NV, Rosé and Silver Reign Brut NV are produced. This production method was created by Eugène Charmat in 1907 in France, whereby the secondary fermentation is in a closed tank and the wine is bottled under pressure where CO2 bubbles are created.
An initial recce was needed with the Vineyard Manager to assess filming locations as the vineyards have footpaths running through that are open to the public. We took advantage of the warm sunny week in early September to film.
