Tension is building as to who will become National Chef of the Year (NCOTY) 2017 and Young National Chef of the Year (YNCOTY) 2017.
The semi-finals began early June at Sheffield College for both categories. We carried out photography that was to be incorporated into the National Chef of the Year promotional video. The videos’ purpose is to engage, inform and to become a ‘call to action’ for the following years entries.
The semi-finals of both NCTY 2015 and YNCY 2015 continued on the 24th June with the London heats which were held at Le Cordon Bleu in Bloomsbury Square. A big day from a production point of view with our crew (Adrian Franklin, Ben Meadows and John Sheppard) covering the ‘action’ in two kitchens, located on 2 different floors. Portraits of all the finalists were taken and the numerous judges including Clare Smyth MBE who chairs NCTY 2015. Stills of al the finished dishes were photographed in a separate room and finally awards at the end of the day. The Final is at The Restaurant Show on the 6th October at Olympia.
